Mustr vs Skedulo for scheduling field crews
Skedulo sits at the enterprise end of workforce scheduling: healthcare fleets, field service teams, big mobile workforces with complex allocation rules. It's serious software. It's also a very different proposition from what a labour hire firm usually needs.
What Skedulo does well
Its scheduling rules engine is genuinely sophisticated: skills, certifications with expiry dates, travel, capacity and custom rules all feed allocation decisions, with strong mobile apps for the field. For large organisations with dedicated ops teams and integration requirements, it's built for exactly that scale.
Where the differences are
- Warnings, not walls. Skedulo's own documentation describes rule violations as records that get raised, highlighted and listed for schedulers to resolve. Monitoring and alerting, in other words. Mustr's check blocks the booking outright when a required ticket is expired, server-side, with no click-past.
- Pricing you can see. Skedulo doesn't publish prices; contracts are annual and quoted, and third-party contract data puts typical spend well into five figures a year with implementation on top. Mustr's price list is public, GST included, from $660 a month.
- Time to live. Enterprise scheduling platforms are projects. Mustr's setup is a done-for-you data load, portal branding and training, with no lock-in contract: every plan is month to month.
The pricing maths
Without published Skedulo figures a clean table isn't possible, which is a data point in itself. Independent contract benchmarks suggest per-user rates that put a 100-user deployment several times Mustr's $1,540 a month GST included, before implementation costs. If your procurement team is comfortable in that territory, you're probably not our buyer anyway.
Which should you pick?
A large enterprise with complex field-service logic, integration depth and a dedicated ops team should evaluate Skedulo seriously. A labour hire firm that needs crews rostered across client sites, tickets enforced at booking, and clients logged in rather than phoning, gets all of that from Mustr for a price on a public page. Twenty minutes, your roster.
