Everything people usually ask before the demo. If yours isn't here, bring it to the call.
What is Mustr?
Mustr is rostering and compliance software for labour hire firms, built in Australia. You roster crews across client sites, and every booking is checked against the worker's tickets, inductions and availability before it goes ahead. If something's missing or expired, the shift can't be booked.
Who is Mustr for?
Labour hire and workforce firms that put crews on client sites. It was built and proven on remote Australian mine sites, and it suits any operation where workers need current tickets and inductions before they can start: mining, civil, healthcare, industrial services.
What does it cost?
One monthly price set by crew size, with everything included. Plans start at $660 a month for up to 30 users and there's a one-time $3,850 setup fee, GST included. The full breakdown is on the pricing page, and we'll confirm the right bracket on the demo call.
How is Mustr different from apps like Deputy or Tanda?
They're good rostering tools, they charge per user per month, and they're built for general shift work. Mustr is one flat price per organisation, built for labour hire: client sites get their own logins, tickets and inductions are checked at the point of booking, and a failed check blocks the shift outright. If all you need is basic rostering for a small crew, a per-seat app will be cheaper. Once compliance and client reporting are the job, one system beats running two.
Does Mustr really block the booking, or just warn you?
It blocks it. The check runs on the server when the assignment is made, so it can't be clicked past. Expiring-soon certs get a warning with time to fix them; expired ones stop the booking until they're renewed. Here's the walkthrough.
Is our data hosted in Australia?
Yes. Mustr runs on Australian infrastructure in a certified facility, on hardware we own, and your data stays onshore. Daily encrypted backups are held offsite, also in Australia.
Can our clients really log in themselves?
Yes. Each client site gets its own logins. They see their roster and nothing else, raise shift requests, and tick off flights and accommodation. You approve everything on your side, and they can invite their own site users.
What happens when a ticket expires mid-placement?
You'll have seen it coming. Expiring certs show on the dashboard up to 60 days out, with one-click reminder emails. Once a cert has expired, that worker can't be booked onto new shifts requiring it until it's renewed.
Can we bring our existing competency matrix across?
Yes. Competency types are fully configurable, including one-off tickets that never expire and renewing certs with expiry dates. We set your matrix up with you during onboarding, and bulk CSV import handles the workers and clients.
Do our workers need an app?
No. Mustr is a website that works on any phone. Nothing to install, nothing to update. Workers can add it to their home screen for one-tap access, which is also how push notices get switched on for iPhones.
Which plan will we be on, and what does it cost?
Your plan is set by how many people you can roster, plus your office logins. Donga covers up to 30 users at $660 a month, Crib up to 50 at $990, Crew up to 100 at $1,540, Swing up to 200 at $2,420, Camp up to 350 at $3,300 and Village up to 500 at $4,180, GST included, with the full platform on at every size. Every plan is month to month, you can cancel at any time, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the current month. The slider on the pricing page works it out for your crew size.
What does the setup fee cover?
The initial build: your workers, competency matrix and inductions loaded, client sites and their requirements configured, portals branded with your logo and colours, and your team trained. It's $3,850 GST included, one time, and we can spread it across your first few months. If you cancel before it's fully paid, the balance is still due.
Can I just try it without talking to anyone?
Yes. The 7-day free trial needs a work email and no credit card, and it opens a workspace already loaded with sample crews, sites and rosters so there's something to drive from the first minute. Nobody has to call you for it to work.
What's the difference between the trial and a real account?
The trial is a sandbox with sample data in it, and it expires. A live account is set up with your workers, your client sites and your competency matrix loaded, your portals branded, and your team trained, which is what the setup fee covers. There's no public signup into a live workspace, deliberately, because it holds real people's compliance and pay details.
Who gets notified when something changes?
The people it affects. Crew hear when a shift they're on moves, when they come off it, and when it's cancelled. Clients hear when their request is crewed, when a shift changes, and when one is cancelled. Admins hear when a client raises or amends a request, and when someone applies for an open shift. Every notice has its own switch, your organisation decides what may be sent, and each person chooses whether they get it in the app, by email, both or not at all.
Can we make onboarding compulsory before someone gets rostered?
Yes. Personal details, headshot, induction, fit-for-work, competencies and availability are each optional or mandatory, you can add your own steps, and a gate can block access until the mandatory ones are done. Each step can carry a grace period, and you set the date the counting starts from so existing crew aren't locked out the morning you switch it on.
What happens to someone who's off the tools for a while?
Set them inactive. They keep every certificate, shift and note, they stop appearing when you build the roster, they can't be assigned even by a direct client request, and reminder emails stop chasing them. Their login is suspended, so they also drop out of the user count your plan is billed on. It's reversible from the same button.
Does Mustr keep getting new features?
Yes, and they're included. Every plan gets each update as it ships, at no extra cost and with no feature tiers. What's new lists what's landed recently.
