The problems Mustr fixes

The roster lives in a spreadsheet

It worked at ten staff. At forty, across sites and swings, it's a full-time job that still goes wrong.

Cert expiries are a surprise

A ticket lapses mid-swing and nobody knew it was coming. Now there's a non-compliant worker on site.

Clients ring to ask who's coming

Who's rostered, are they inducted, are flights booked. Every answer is a phone call and a dig through email.

Compliance engine

The roster that says no.

Every shift is checked against the worker's competencies before it's booked. Expired ticket, missing induction, double-booked, marked unavailable: the booking is blocked, not just flagged. Expiring-soon certs get a warning with time to fix them. The check runs on the server, so nobody can click past it.

Plenty of software will track an expiry and warn you. A warning still lets the shift go ahead. The block is the point.

  • Required competencies per client and per role
  • One-off tickets and renewing certs both handled
  • Per-shift extra requirements when a site asks for more
  • 60-day expiry dashboard with one-click reminder emails

Roster

Every site, one screen.

A horizontal timeline with a lane for each client site. Day and night shifts sit in their own sub-lanes, bars are colour-coded by client, weekends are shaded, and unfilled shifts stay visibly open until someone takes them.

  • Drag on the timeline to create a shift, click to edit
  • Day and night shifts, swing patterns, free-text labels
  • Flights and accommodation tracked on the shift itself
  • Open shifts published for your crew to put their hand up

Portals

Your workers and your clients see their own slice.

For your crew

One calendar where your workers drag out their availability, see their own shifts by site, and register interest in open shifts. No app to install; it works on any phone.

  • Drag-to-set availability
  • Open shifts, one tap to put a hand up
  • Their swings, their sites, nothing else

For your clients

Your client sites get their own login. They see their roster, raise shift requests, tick off flights and accommodation, and verify inductions. Fewer phone calls for everyone.

  • Live roster for their site only
  • Shift requests straight into your queue
  • They can invite their own site users

Built for the conditions.

Hosted in Australia. Your data stays onshore.

Two-factor authentication on every login, no exceptions.

Live accounts are set up deliberately, never by a public signup form.

Every organisation's data isolated at the database level.

What's new

It keeps getting better, at the same price.

Every update is included in every plan. No feature tiers, no upgrade prompts. Here's some of what has landed since we launched.

Nobody finds out by accident

Crew are told when a shift they're on moves or is cancelled. Clients are told when their request is crewed, changed or cancelled, with the old details shown next to the new. Admins hear the moment a client raises a request.

Everyone picks how they're told

Workers, client contacts and the office each get a page listing every notice they can receive, with a tick for in the app and a tick for email.

Onboarding you configure

Every step optional or mandatory, your own steps added, and a gate that blocks the app until the mandatory ones are done, with grace periods so nobody is locked out unfairly.

NotificationsThe organisation allows it. You choose how it reaches you.IN THE APPEMAILShift changedTaken off a shiftOpen shift availableAvailability running lowCertificate expiringCertificate expiring is off for everyone in this organisation
Each person chooses how they hear about each notice, in the app, by email, both or neither.

A shift editor that shows the clash

The crew panel lists who's free, which tickets they hold, and greys out anyone locked into another site that week, with the clashing site named.

Seats you aren't using don't count

Set someone inactive between swings. They keep every record, can't be rostered, and drop out of the user count your plan is billed on.

Why one system

One system, doing both jobs.

Labour hire firms usually end up with a roster app that charges per seat, a separate system for tickets and compliance, and spreadsheets holding the two together.

The usual stack

A per-seat roster app plus a separate compliance platform runs north of $3,000 a month at 100 workers, on the vendors' own published pricing. And because they're separate systems, neither one stops the booking when a ticket expires. The roster app doesn't know.

Mustr

$1,540 a month at 100 users, GST included. The roster and the compliance engine are one system, so the booking is blocked the moment it should be. Worker and client portals are in the price, not on an add-on list.

Pricing

One price. Everything included.

Every plan is the whole platform: every feature, hosting, security and support. The only thing that changes with crew size is the price. No per-seat billing, so casuals coming and going don't move the bill. All prices include GST.

Common questions

What is Mustr?

Mustr is rostering and compliance software for labour hire firms, built in Australia. You roster crews across client sites, and every booking is checked against the worker's tickets, inductions and availability before it goes ahead. If something's missing or expired, the shift can't be booked.

Who is Mustr for?

Labour hire and workforce firms that put crews on client sites. It was built and proven on remote Australian mine sites, and it suits any operation where workers need current tickets and inductions before they can start: mining, civil, healthcare, industrial services.

Is our data hosted in Australia?

Yes. Mustr runs on Australian infrastructure and your data stays onshore.

What does it cost?

One monthly price set by crew size, with everything included. Plans start at $660 a month for up to 30 users and there's a one-time $3,850 setup fee, GST included. The full breakdown is in the pricing section, and we'll confirm the right bracket on the demo call.

How is Mustr different from apps like Deputy or Tanda?

They're good rostering tools, they charge per user per month, and they're built for general shift work. Mustr is one flat price per organisation, built for labour hire: client sites get their own logins, tickets and inductions are checked at the point of booking, and a failed check blocks the shift outright. If all you need is basic rostering for a small crew, a per-seat app will be cheaper. Once compliance and client reporting are the job, one system beats running two.

Why one flat price instead of per user?

Per-seat billing makes every new starter a cost decision, and labour hire headcounts move constantly. One price per bracket means the number is known, casuals coming and going don't change it, and every feature is on at every size. Per head it works out from $15.40 a user on Crew down to $8.36 on Village at full crew.

Can our clients really log in themselves?

Yes. Each client site gets its own logins. They see their roster and nothing else, raise shift requests, and tick off flights and accommodation. You approve everything on your side.

What happens when a ticket expires mid-placement?

You'll have seen it coming. Expiring certs show on the dashboard up to 60 days out, with one-click reminder emails. Once a cert has expired, that worker can't be booked onto new shifts requiring it until it's renewed.

Can we bring our existing competency matrix across?

Yes. Competency types are fully configurable, including one-off tickets that never expire and renewing certs with expiry dates. We set your matrix up with you during onboarding.

Do our workers need an app?

No. Mustr is a website that works on any phone. Nothing to install, nothing to update.

Bring one roster to the demo. We'll show you Mustr running it.
